Jodie Jodie O’Shea Newsletter January / February 2007 |
First and foremost we would once again like to wish you all every happiness for 2007. ENGLISH CLASSES AT JODIE O’SHEA We are very pleased that our children are now taking part in English lessons held at Jodie O’Shea. These lessons are taught by Miss Widita Lindi who is providing comprehensive and fun tasks for the children who are divided into two groups based on their abilities. They all have two lessons a week. Once again we must express our thanks to Robert Curran for providing this vital educational program. Thank you Robert. VISIT TO THE CIRCUS In November, our children were very fortunate to visit a circus that came to town. We saw lions, elephants and other entertainingly wild animals together with clowns and acrobats. The exciting evening ended with delicious ice-creams for all of us. We would like to thank Rachel and Omah for taking our children on this wonderful outing, an experience they will never forget. ANOTHER WATERBOM ADVENTURE The annual Sunrise School / Jodie O’Shea WaterBom big day out happened again this year and all the children were bubbling over with excitement and anticipation. This trip is a great community initiative established and supported by Miss Kayti Denham and her Sunrise students and their parents. Thank you yet again to Kayti and Sunrise parents and students for their continued support of the Jodie O’Shea Home. CHRISTMAS AT JODIE O’SHEA’S We celebrated Christmas on December 23rd with joyous carol singing by the children. Thank you to everyone who joined us that evening and a special thank you to Janet and her family and also to Mount Maunganui Altrusa Club in New Zealand Another wonderful and popular Christmas present was a super-duper TRAMPOLINE from Melissa of Body & Soul. Melissa’s ongoing support of the children and our home is encouraging and very much appreciated. OUR NEW WEBSITE As this newsletter goes out so too does our new and updated website at http://www.careforkidsbali.com/ As you can imagine, such tasks take time (and great patience for some of us) however we are extremely pleased with the result. Please take the time to visit our website and as always your feedback is much appreciated. Thanks must go to Prana and Rinto for their fantastic work and support. We are very pleased to announce that those living in the US can now donate to the Bantul Kindergarten Project through Give2Asia, the American non-profit organization established by The Asia Foundation. As a US 501 (c) (3) public charity they make giving easy, tax deductible and convenient for those giving within the US.
We must also say again thank you to Nattalia Sinclair for supporting us with rice every month. Thank You Nattalia. As always we would like to thank all of you for your support. Even though we have said this before, we could not do this without you. Alison & Yanto
