Apologies
We would like to apologize to everybody for the delay with our newsletter. We will be sending another newsletter to you all explaining what we have been doing recently in addition to our work with our children's home.
Our big fundraiser
On May 12th we held a fantastic evening of fine food, wine and entertainment in aid of raising funds for our children. We were very fortunate to have Gary Malkin, composer and pianist, perform that evening. This was followed by an auction conducted by Richard Flax. We were very privileged to have had so many truly fabulous prizes donated by various hotels, shops and individuals for the auction and by the end of the evening we had successfully raised U$12,000 which went towards the annual holiday and to much needed renovations and additions to our children's home.
The evening was such a success that people have requested we make this an annual event.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and gave so generously. Thank you to Gary Malkin ( we hope you will visit us again soon!) Richard for doing the auction and to Philippa, Judy and Rossie without whom it would never have happened. A lot was achieved in 3 weeks. Thank you again to everyone!!
Many thanks
We would like to say a big thank you to the visitors (many of whom come from Australia) who have shown such interest in our home. Your generosity and kindness to the children is so very much appreciated.
Thank you as always for the monetary donations that continue to come in. To Vi and Jan Medusky, our Hawaiian family, for their support.
Our vegetable garden. We are pleased with the progress our vege patch at Jodie O'Shea. The children tend the garden and take great pride in the vegetables grown.
A final note Although this is a short newsletter we will also be sending an additional newsletter on our activities in Yogyakarta. Again, thank you all your continued support and we appreciate any feedback from you.
Also Gerry, Alison's father and the official 'website man'is currently away and upon his return will update the website with new photographs.
